Expressing her wants and needs

This is a repeated statement we hear from daycare almost everyday. I finally had to ask because I am hoping we don’t have the bitch and moan kid there.
But I guess she is just loud when she is bored or hungry and she lets them know. I can second that. Last night I put her on her blanket on the floor for tummy time and went to move something and she did not like that one bit so she proceeded to scream bloody murder. We had the window open and a couple walking by looked up at our window. wonderful now they think we are torturing our child.

Another common theme at daycare is that she is "sensitive". For weeks now on her daily chart it says this and I really did not know exactly what they are talking about until I dropped her off this morning. I put her in a bouncy center across from another baby Ethan for their morning rituals of babbling at each other. (see video below) Aiden (a boy that just moved rooms since he is over 1 now) came over as the 1's room was not ready. His mom put him in the highchair and waved goodbye and Aiden had a meltdown, screaming and flailing all around.
Riley stuck her bottom lip out and just started to howl. She kept staring at him and every time he cried she cried. Soon as he stopped, she stopped. Poor thing! Now I know when they say she is sensitive what they are referring to. I would cry to if I had to hear him scream like that everyday.

I wont jinx myself but saying sleeping is good, because inevitably it will change - but she slept through the entire night last night! She had a rough rough time getting to sleep so we were in bed a bit after 930pm, but she did not wake up until 530am. woo hoo!
The rough night started as Dad had to quarantine himself to the man den downstairs. He felt like a mac truck hit him and we were not going to get her sick again since she was barely over her last cold.
Well that proved to be a bit difficult since that screwed up our nightly routine of bath time. Andy usually preps her for her bath while I get the bath water ready. I bathe her then hand her back off to Andy where he gets her jammies on after I put her nighttime lotion on. He was not there and I think it screwed up her routine. Babies. They are soooo set to a schedule... cannot wait to travel with her. HA!

Speaking of travel we leave in exactly 15 days for Albuquerque to see Grammy Sue and Papa Ron.... and all of our friends down in the 505!
This is our first trip with Riley and it is a pretty short flight about 2.75-3 hours, so this is a nice short flight to see if she is going to do ok.
I remember flying with my nephew Case and all of our family to Minnesota and how much "stuff" you have to bring for a baby. Oddly enough that is the part I am not looking forward to, the checking in/security fiasco. The actual flight I think should be ok as long as I can get her to nurse or sleep for most of it.

Here are a few pictures and videos of the super baby:

Swing.... WEEEE!

Riley is now able to fit in Case's old swing, so we tried it out last night and this morning. Ry loves it! She babbles on and on while swinging away.
For your entertainment, videos and some pictures - of course! :)

4 Month Update

Today Riley hit her big milestone, 4 months! Not really sure if that is a big one, but to me it is, so deal with it. ;)
I am taking off work early to take her into the doctor. She has to get shots and a laundry list of signed notes for daycare. One for the stuffy/runny nose and cough she has had for the last week that we assume is a cold. They require a note now before she can come back to make sure she has a clean bill of health and not an allergy to something at the facility. Second note for the daycare to allow them to keep her asleep in the swing. She falls asleep all the time in the swing but they are not allowed to keep her in there for more then 15 minutes after she has fallen asleep. Third note is like the second but for the bouncy chair, but for some reason the daycare said it has to be a total separate note. hmm.

Wish us luck - tonight could be rough with the shots. I packed Tylenol with me so I hope that she will be ok.

On a "lighter" note..... she finally pooed! For those that I had told she had not gone for over 10 days and we knew it was going to be massive and she delivered. I picked her up from daycare last Thursday and went directly to the store to get Karo syrup that the pediatrician recommended for us to put into her formula bottle that night. Apparently this is sweet tasting so most babies don't mind the taste and it helps loosen things up in there. If she had not pooed by morning we were going to have to do the ugly procedure... i will spare you details but just note it required rubber gloves, Vaseline and a steel stomach.
She fell asleep as soon as we left daycare and was totally knocked out when we went to the store. I ran in with her to get the syrup and we waited in the check out line when i noticed "something" on her pants. Well this something started to grow and grow and I knew at that moment what it was and wholly crap! LITERALLY CRAP! I had already purchased the syrup and ran out with her to the car. Now I was caught in this strange moment of, do I wait it out and change her in the parking lot or do i just keep it in the car?
I chose the latter and cruised home hoping that it was not spilling out all over the car. Luckily i did not hit any red lights and got home in enough time to make sure it did not leak all over the car. whew.
Her car seat though was not so lucky - it was covered from the middle to the bottom and "it" was pooling at the bottom. Good god.
Needless to say for the next hour I was cleaning her, the car seat and me not to mention all the laundry I had to do. Andy got home just after the massive blow out so he missed it all, but he will get his chance I am sure later in her life. :)

Besides the poo updates she has been rolling and rolling! She turns all the way over now and rolls and rolls, not fast but she is able to roll to and fro. Yesterday Andy was drinking a beer and put it way out of her reach, she rolled over and started to lift her butt and scoot up towards it! I was like oh great - she is going to start crawling for beer!!! HA! :)

I am posting a few videos and pics below for you all to see; have a great holiday weekend all!

I am sure my mom can concur this is a face I use to make all the time. We gingerly refer to this face as her "piss" face.
