Superbowl & Runny Noses

Saturday was a day filled with Grandparents, Good Time movies, good food and Poker. Andy hosted a guy's night Poker game while I attended a "John Hughes" movie night with Cecily and friends. It was at a house 10 blocks from my parents so of course they did not argue when I dropped of Ry for a night with the Grandparents.
Andy did not score at his Poker night and I did not score any rest with Riley sleeping in the same room with me, but overall it was a great time for us all. Andy needed boy time and I needed some girl chat time. It was suppose to be a night filled with Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candle movies, but it turned out to be us girls chatting and looking up hot celebrity men online. HAHAHA! It was a great time!

Sunday was Superbowl and we headed to Kenmore for the annual Bachmeier Superbowl party. Let me break down the scene for you: Huge wall to wall TV and surround sound in one room.... where the Men and the Singles hung out. Another room with a standard TV filled with lactating women, crying babies and children that appeared to be hyped up on crack and sugar. It was insane.
I did not get to watch much of the game or see the commercials, but the Saints won and that is what I was hoping for. Gotta root for the underdog! :)

Here are a few pictures of the Boys holding the girls at Superbowl:

Riley again has a runny nose and is hacking at night keeping her parents awake.... i am hoping we are not playing the "ping pong cold/sinus/bronchitis" game again. :(
I am getting much better though nights are still very rough and I won't go into the gory details of my sinus issues; thank you all for the get well notes they were awesome.

So everyday when I pick up Riley it says on her chart that she ate: Diced peaches/pears. But every time I try at home she gags and throws up. I thought hmm what am i doing wrong. So i finally asked Miss Phoebe and we watched her do the same thing at daycare. I guess what they meant to say was that she is "practicing on picking up things with her fingers" not really eating. It is funny though if you bring out a jar of baby food she gets all excited and not so much for her bottles any longer, except for her night time comfort one. So she is making a lot of progress there.
She still won't eat green beans, probably because Papa Ron keeps telling her not to eat those peas or squash over our Skype sessions every weekend. :)
I have been adding more Chicken/Rice and Turkey/Greens baby food into her dinnertime and she seems to enjoy them. She still makes the funniest faces when she eats peaches from the tartness but everything else seems to go down ok at this point.

She is crawling faster and faster everyday and is pulling herself up all the time using the ottomans or the tables nearby. Yesterday she was able to hold on to my fingers and just stand, she took a wobbly step and just cracked herself up. She laughed and laughed and thought it was the funniest thing ever. I am not sure if it was her way to say: "Oh just you wait mom".

More updates at a later date......

9 Month Update and more

Oh how time flies. It just seems like yesterday when our wee one was looking up at us with these dark blue eyes all wrapped quietly in her swaddling blanket. Now the bright blue eyed girl is super crawling and pulling herself up to get at everything!

I still cannot believe she is already 9 months old! :( My baby is getting big too soon!

Today I dropped her off at daycare to find out that we have hit a milestone at daycare and that it is time to introduce the "sippy" cup at meal times. This should be interesting since she won't hold her bottle, so I forsee this going very well.
At daycare Riley will eat mushed up diced peaches and pears and will play around with cheerios occasionally eating them. At home she won't touch anything other then her pureed babyfood from the jar. I have tried mushing up all sorts of items but nope won't eat them; she loves the jars.

On a non-Riley note I ran to Target at lunchtime to get diapers, formula and beer (you know all the essentials) and got a surprise: a speeding ticket. :( UGH. It is a very popular area for cops and I know it and even though I thought it would not happen to me, BAM i get pulled over.
The cop was very nice and said that I was very cooperative and polite and he thanked me a few times for being so nice and not arguing. Well what was I suppose to argue? I knew I was speeding... not like i was trying to outrun some teenager or anything, I was simply trying to pass a turning vehicle into a turning lane all of which I guess you are not suppose to go faster then 35. Oh well. :(

So last month Andy got into a fender bender and now I get a ticket. Awesome. :(
Needless to say the Red Roses and Chocolates for Valentine's day have been replaced by a lovely shade of green ticket infraction and a $124 fee to the City of Lynnwood. grrrrr.
The cop was nice and told me I could protest it in court, but since i was going 11 over the speed limit the chances of it being dropped were slim. He said "if it matters I pull over people for going 2 over the speed limit"... wonderful I would have loved to be the one that gets a ticket for going 2 over.

Ok on to a funner subject Riley! Here are a few videos that we had to share. The first is very grainy but I was trying to get her napping time. yes in this video she is supposed to be "napping".... yeah right.

I will post the other video tonight....
